Biography

Troy Deeney signed for Blues on two-year deal in August 2021, ending an 11-year association with former club Watford.

Birmingham-born Deeney began his footballing career with Chelmsley Town, before signing a professional deal with Walsall in 2006. The boyhood Blue spent four years at the Banks’s Stadium, scoring 27 goals in 136 appearances before a move to Watford materialised in the summer of 2010.

Deeney would become club captain at Vicarage Road, led his team to an FA Cup final and hit twenty-plus goals in a season on three occasions.
