EMILY RAMSEY

Goalkeeper

Biography

The highly-rated goalkeeper joined the Club on a season-long loan from top-flight counterparts, Manchester United.

Ramsey is a product of United’s youth system, although she spent the 2017-18 campaign along the M62 in Liverpool as the Red Devils finalised plans for their senior team.

Upon returning to Manchester United, she was a part of the First Team squad that won the FA Women’s Championship at the first attempt, keeping a clean sheet in all three of her appearances.

Injury ruled Ramsey out at the start of the 2019-20 campaign, with her first appearance coming in December’s FA Continental Tyres League Cup meeting with Blues. She then joined Sheffield United on loan for the second-half of the season, but would only play twice due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Further experience came Ramsey’s way in last year’s cup competitions, including whilst on an emergency loan with West Ham United, and the season ended on a significant high point when she was selected for the Lionesses summer training camp.

Prior to this senior recognition, the 20-year-old stopper has played in multiple England youth teams and in 2018 won a bronze medal at the Women’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup in France.
